Naomi - sorry my list is a bit blah... I need gift cards to maternity stores or for maternity clothes, I am starting to need them!!!! I know there is a destination maternity store in the brea mall, other than that.... I don't know of any, I know kohls and target have ok maternity sections but I'm sure most of you know better than me! Otherwise I love Desseret bookstore gift cards. I'm sorry I'm boring this year, but we have no where to put anything else as we are trying to get rid of stuff to fit the baby!!!
Mike- I don't know what he wants, he is impossible for me to even shop for, but he always loves gift cards to fry's or home depot or lowes. I know he has fire stuff he is buying, but other than that he says he doesn't need anything at this moment. However his set of cordless drills and saw he got many christmases ago has died... the batteries are shot and the batteries costs just as much to replace as getting a new set almost... so that is something he was looking into.... so again sorry we are so blah this year! edit..... mike would like to add: a dremel-like tool kit he saw at frys (30 and under section): Cordless drill replacement batteries are Ryobi 18v ($40-$50 @ home depot)

Back to the beehive state.
Guys, it's been great being down here in CA. But I'm headed back to the great white north.
Obama put the brakes on the Border Patrol's hiring, so I'm going back up to finish school. There's a catch, however. I'm transferring from BYU to to UVU (formerly UVSC) to do their fire program. I'm doing EMT and whatnot this semester and a fire academy next semester. Paramedic school is next year.
Here is a recent picture of me:

I rescued that baby from a tree, and somehow my turnout coat and shirt got ripped off in the process... Dangers of the job...
Love you all. Wish me luck.

Wilson Cousin Reunion
On Sunday, June 8th, we went to Jay's house for a Wilson Cousin Reunion.....what a fun day. Aunt Irene was there with all her kids, Scott, Jay, Hawlie and Nancy....along with a few of their kids. Grandma, Grandpa, Lisa, Ed, Sue, Don and I went too. Our cousin Jeannie showed up along with my friends from Downey Sue and Stephanie Eastwood and Susie's husband Lee. Susie was one of the girls on the train when we met Don and it was her house that they found when they rode for Whittier to Downey on their bikes....Susie said she had shared that story many times in Young Women! How funny. Hope you enjoy the pics...

Brad's Marathon
Post race rub down.
Marcy and me after the race.
Almost there. 26.1 miles
Trying to stand up afterwards. Well the big day has come and gone. Believe it or not...I ran 26.2 miles to complete my first marathon. It was a little more painful than I expected. It started great. I was nice and relaxed and in the groove up until mile #16. That's when my right knee started to bother me. I have never had a problem with my knee so this was very unexpected. Over the next several miles it got progressively worse and caused me to slow down. Eventually I had to stop and walk for a while at mile #23 because it hurt so much. At mile #24 I met Marcy.
Marcy is from Oceanside and had a baby six months ago. As she came up from behind me she slapped me in the rear and started motivating me to finish strong and not walk. Needless to stay, if hadn't been for her I probably would of walked the last two miles. As I approached the finish line I saw Mac, Tommie and Cole cheering for me. They yelled and screamed for me as I turned the corner for the last 50 yards to the finish line. Kris and Jessie were there on that final stretch yelling and screaming as well. Jessie hoped over the railing and ran the last 30 yards with me across the finish line. I was exhausted and in pain. My legs immediately started cramping and even though I tried to get a rub down it didn't work very well. I had many leg cramps through out the rest of the day.
Over the next couple of days I had to learn how to walk again. It's so ironic. I ran 26 miles on Sunday but on Monday I couldn't walk 26 feet. Overall the experience was incredible. My knee seems to be OK and is not bothering me anymore. As I start to feel better I will reevaluate my training and prepare for the next one. Yes, that's right...you can say it...who in their right mind would do it again. But, I think I will.

Horsin around!
Rocky and Cindie are teaching Rick and I how to really ride a horse. This is how they do it in Norco! We spent a lot of time out at the Rock n C Ranch last weekend and had a blast with them. Rick helped Rocky and Paden with the saloon and I hung out on the porch and with the girls. Rick and I went on a trail ride thru Norco, tied up our horses and went shopping. When we were done we jumped back on our horses and went back to the ranch. It was crazy fun! There is a lot of hanging out in the arena on horse back and I think it is really the life. We love visiting the Rock n C Ranch!!

The Easter Egg problem
Okay.....Who did it????? Dave mentioned that he didn't have an egg hidden...WRONG....I found his yesterday right behind the house...Big and purple...just like Danny's...This is getting serious...I think there must be a mole in our group trying to mess with the purple egg holders. Hopefully a smart detective will be able to come up with a solution so this won't happen again. Actually grandpa helps the bunny and keeps track to where every egg is hidden sooooooo, it is a mystery that may take more than one person to solve.....

Kitchen
OK for those of you who didn't hear yet our washing machine took it last breath last week. It overflowed and ruined the kitchen floors. During the damage demolishing they suggested we have the floors tested for asbestos and the test came out positive for asbestos under the floors. So we have to have the entry and kitchen contained and the men have to wear protective gear to rip up the floors. Think ET scene. This should be taking place Thursday or Friday.
I will keep everyone posted and updated on the progress. Right now I feel like I'm losing my mind. I took a few pictures for everyone. Hopefully after everything is said and done we will have a wonderful happy healthy kitchen.

Clearing my name...
I'm not sure what happened... but I most definitely DID find my egg. I know there is someone out there who can back me up...
Would a face like this lie?

No way.
Possible causes of the extra egg...
1. Two eggs were made for me.
2. In the previous 6 years of missed Easters, an egg was made for me, but I was not there to find it. (If this is the case, there might be 5 more hanging around in the backyard)
I actually found my egg rather quickly, but that's not too surprising if there were 6 of them out there...

EASTER 2009
This morning (Friday after Easter) Grandpa and I were out weeding the hill when I found a purple Easter Egg! WHAT!!!!! Someone came in and feasted on the food without finding their egg. NO WAY!!! When I looked at the name I was surprised to see that our own Danny had actually come in and had food while his egg was still in its hiding place.
We had a late start as so many have late Church but we had a great time even if the weather was a little cool. The Bocchi ball tournament got cut a little short and Grandpa and Mike were victorious over Dave and John, but that was the only game played. We missed Jenny, Warren, Billy, Mason, Hailey and Nicki. The rest of the gang was here and we had a good visit and had the usual Easter food. We celebrated Tyler and Dannys birthdays. Tyler was thrilled with his new bat from his mom and dad and Grandma made a pillow case for Danny that had the names of a lot of favorite surfing spots on it. I wish you could have seen his face when he opened it. He thought it was a shirt when he first saw it and I think he thought that I had lost my mind. He would never want to be seen in it but was real happy to think of sleeping on it and dreaming about surfing. Karen Amagrande came by with two of her daughters, Michelle and Bekka and we all had fun reminising about good times at the River.
We all are looking forward to Mothers day at Black Meadow and so here is the cooking schedule

UTAH TRIP/ BYU IDAHO
Well... for those of you who don't know, Auntie Nay and I (Jessie) went to Utah and Idaho to look at college campuses of interest. What started out as a simple trip to Utah, took a few twisty turny thingys and ended up being quite entertaining. To make sure you get the FULL story... let's start from the beginning...
Auntie Nay said there would be some rain in Utah so we should pack warm clothes... of course, CAlifornia is not the coldest place.. so our warm clothes are NOT in any way shape or form UTAH WARM CLOTHES... please note for future trips of yours that UTAH is much COLDER when it rains. Especially when temperatures reach freezing and the rain drops turn to snow sleet. (At least it was pretty to look at.)

We spent Wednesday in Provo. It was raining when we left and to our pleasant surprise... whattya know... SNOW. We took the BYU campus tour with our very perky tour guide... *AND CUTE* on a Golf cart..... PS his name is Rhett... please see picture below. Don't we look lovely in our california rain clothes. we are sooo californians.

We had lunch with Lonette Stoddard. She's one of Kathy Raile's friends who works at BYU. I went to Nauvoo with her in February. We ate at the Wilkinson Center and then visited the HUMUNGO BYU bookstore. This is what BYU looked like when we came out of hibernating.

ENOUGH SNOW IN ONE WHOLE HOUR TO MAKE A SNOW ANGEL!!!!
By the way, this is what our car looked like... we had a hard time finding it a couple times... because all the cars looked the same with their snuggies on (refer to commerical) . *Naomi doesn't think anyone will get that.* But you can totally ask her what happened on the way out from the Seagull Bookstore.
Many times we screamed like chickens with our heads cut off on our way into the mall... grocery stores... and multiple other places. We even learned how to create the human tidal wave with our car. There was so much slushy snow on the ground that our car swam in it. AND just walking in the parking lots was entertaining because from the time we walked from the car to a place where it was dry... our socks were soaked... no matter how hard we tried to keep dry. PS Californians do not own snow shoes.
We would like to thankGrandma Debby for taking us to the Airport and for picking us up tomorrow. We very much enjoyed her company and appreciated her taking the time to drive us to the airport and home. WE LOVE YOU.

Day One:
Salt Lake City, Temple Square
POURING RAIN
(Welcome to Utah)
Firstly, Temple square is basically under construction. Don't get your hopes up on finding a parking spot... if you can find a parking lot. Once we DID find a parking spot, we paid... in an "on your honor box" (haha only in Utah). Those Mormons! Because it was raining... I mean POURING... we couldn't find anyone to take our picture for us outside the temple, so we did our best to accomodate ourselves... Three cheers for Nay Nay!!
Day Two:
Provo Utah
Rain... I mean Snow.
ENOUGH SNOW IN ONE WHOLE HOUR TO MAKE A SNOW ANGEL!!!!
ISNT IT LOVELY!!!
Day Three:
Idaho
More snow... and then rain
We went to Idaho EARLY this morning. NOTE I woke up EARLY over spring break.... and i DID NOT ATTEND SEMINARY. We drove four hours to Rexburg and toured the campus with our tour guide Ashley. It cleared up in RExburg... JUST FOR US!! YEA!!!

The rexburg temple is absolutely gorgeous.. and we didn't get a picture.. you can google it. And we saw basically every temple in utah. At least half of them. Then we totally drove back another FOUR hours in the car. IT rained. and WE SANG.... a lot... in the car... to the beatles... to keep awake because we were both exhausted. that is EIGHT freaking hours in a car. A CAR!!! but i got a free BYU -I Tshirt!!!! Yippeee!!!
This is us EXHAUSTED when we arrived home in Midvale at Scott's place.
And Thank you mom and dad and uncle mikey for letting us go on our trip to visit the BYU campuses... WE ARE HAVING TOOOOOO MUCH FUN.
And we are SO ready to go to bed. (We miss our beds)
GOODNIGHT!

uncle don
this morning jackie was coloring in her primary conference activity book. there is a page with facts and the pictures of the presidents and apostles on it, and you need to match them up. well i could hear her getting upset over something and i asked her what is wrong. she asked how to spell uncle don's name. i told her. she asked me to write it down so she could look for him. by this time i am lauhing. i ask her why. she was so frustrated hahaha. " i can't find his picture in here anywhere!" i am still chuckling to myself about that one. i love you jackie. you always make me smile! xoxo

He'll start the EMT part of his trainging soon. Mike said most of the guys in his academy already have their paramedic training, but he has his EMT certificate and I know he'll do just fine. His graduation date is Friday, May 15th. He's getting a REAL paycheck and is well on his was.....Love you Mike!

Update
Danny took his written for the Border Patrol this week and got a 97% on it. He had the option of taking the Spanish version and did that and he was the only "white" boy in there. haha He said everyone else spoke Spanish as their native language. Spanish speaking missions are the best! It's amazing how well he can speak and write in Spanish only having done it for 2 years. His oral interview is next week. Say a little prayer for him please. :) Can't wait to see everyone on Easter!

Mike's Academy
So...... the news that is not official but almost official as soon as Chief Heinsel signs it.... well because of the budget cuts and what not.... they are cutting Mike's academy down by 2 weeks meaning he will graduate now on Friday May 15th, the week of the river. Now it is not set in stone, just almost.... so I will definetely let you guys know, just giving a heads up. Mike did not want me to say anything because it is the week of the river... he was just planning on graduating and telling you guys afterwards... really..... he is so funny. If he really wanted that to happen, he wouldn't have told me :) But really, he doesn't want anyones river trip to be cut short for a boring graduation.... but I'm bummed because they should have shaved one more week off so the possibility of going to the river for me could have been entertained :) Anyways, for those that want to go to the graduation, that's when it is for now.... It's really not a big deal to Mike though who comes so don't worry about it, we'll miss everyone at the river though, maybe some of you guys will want to take another mini trip in the summer or something to hang out at the river for a few days!!!! Anyways, we love you all, thank you for your support, Mike is doing great, tired, but hanging in there. He's been doing really well on all his tests, and his finals are in two weeks for combat training. We will keep you updated.

Brad's Half Marathon
Well, I finaly did it. I ran my first half marathon last Sunday in Huntington Beach. Thats 13.1 miles. I finished in two hours eleven minutes, a ten-minute mile pace. It was quite the experience and I couldn't believe how far the .1 mile was at the end. There were over 10,000 runners for this race. In case your wondering... no,I did not win. But I feel real good now that my legs have stopped cramping. Kris and the kids had a good laugh as I tried to walk around the house afterwards. I am now looking forward to my first full marathon (26.2 miles) on May 3rd. Wish me luck!!!!!!!!
