Naomi - sorry my list is a bit blah... I need gift cards to maternity stores or for maternity clothes, I am starting to need them!!!! I know there is a destination maternity store in the brea mall, other than that.... I don't know of any, I know kohls and target have ok maternity sections but I'm sure most of you know better than me! Otherwise I love Desseret bookstore gift cards. I'm sorry I'm boring this year, but we have no where to put anything else as we are trying to get rid of stuff to fit the baby!!!
Mike- I don't know what he wants, he is impossible for me to even shop for, but he always loves gift cards to fry's or home depot or lowes. I know he has fire stuff he is buying, but other than that he says he doesn't need anything at this moment. However his set of cordless drills and saw he got many christmases ago has died... the batteries are shot and the batteries costs just as much to replace as getting a new set almost... so that is something he was looking into.... so again sorry we are so blah this year! edit..... mike would like to add: a dremel-like tool kit he saw at frys (30 and under section): Cordless drill replacement batteries are Ryobi 18v ($40-$50 @ home depot)

Back to the beehive state.
Guys, it's been great being down here in CA. But I'm headed back to the great white north.
Obama put the brakes on the Border Patrol's hiring, so I'm going back up to finish school. There's a catch, however. I'm transferring from BYU to to UVU (formerly UVSC) to do their fire program. I'm doing EMT and whatnot this semester and a fire academy next semester. Paramedic school is next year.
Here is a recent picture of me:
I rescued that baby from a tree, and somehow my turnout coat and shirt got ripped off in the process... Dangers of the job...
Love you all. Wish me luck.

Wilson Cousin Reunion
On Sunday, June 8th, we went to Jay's house for a Wilson Cousin Reunion.....what a fun day. Aunt Irene was there with all her kids, Scott, Jay, Hawlie and Nancy....along with a few of their kids. Grandma, Grandpa, Lisa, Ed, Sue, Don and I went too. Our cousin Jeannie showed up along with my friends from Downey Sue and Stephanie Eastwood and Susie's husband Lee. Susie was one of the girls on the train when we met Don and it was her house that they found when they rode for Whittier to Downey on their bikes....Susie said she had shared that story many times in Young Women! How funny. Hope you enjoy the pics...

Brad's Marathon
Post race rub down.
Marcy and me after the race.
Almost there. 26.1 miles
Trying to stand up afterwards.
Well the big day has come and gone. Believe it or not...I ran 26.2 miles to complete my first marathon. It was a little more painful than I expected. It started great. I was nice and relaxed and in the groove up until mile #16. That's when my right knee started to bother me. I have never had a problem with my knee so this was very unexpected. Over the next several miles it got progressively worse and caused me to slow down. Eventually I had to stop and walk for a while at mile #23 because it hurt so much. At mile #24 I met Marcy.
Marcy is from Oceanside and had a baby six months ago. As she came up from behind me she slapped me in the rear and started motivating me to finish strong and not walk. Needless to stay, if hadn't been for her I probably would of walked the last two miles. As I approached the finish line I saw Mac, Tommie and Cole cheering for me. They yelled and screamed for me as I turned the corner for the last 50 yards to the finish line. Kris and Jessie were there on that final stretch yelling and screaming as well. Jessie hoped over the railing and ran the last 30 yards with me across the finish line. I was exhausted and in pain. My legs immediately started cramping and even though I tried to get a rub down it didn't work very well. I had many leg cramps through out the rest of the day.
Over the next couple of days I had to learn how to walk again. It's so ironic. I ran 26 miles on Sunday but on Monday I couldn't walk 26 feet. Overall the experience was incredible. My knee seems to be OK and is not bothering me anymore. As I start to feel better I will reevaluate my training and prepare for the next one. Yes, that's right...you can say it...who in their right mind would do it again. But, I think I will.
